The Doppler Radar is a radar device that utilizes the Doppler effect (the change of frequency of a wave). The Doppler Radar tracks a clouds motion, by tracking its microwave radiation and then measuring the attenuation in the return pulse. By tracking the microwave radiation, you observe and calculate the cloud's reflectivity and velocity. Doppler Radar if often utilized for tracking tornadoes.
